Paper Cover Dec 24

AccessCR was engaged by Bristol Myers Squibb Australia to prepare a Paper to inform discussions at their Shaping HealthCare Together Roundtable in Canberra on the 19th November 2024 with 27 Patient Organisations, the Department of Health and Medicines Australia representatives. The Roundtable discussions have been summarised in the BMS Australia Patients and Parliament Summit Report, of which the Roundtable was a part.

The Paper considered three themes we proposed to be influential in facilitating early and continuos engagement of patient communities in HTA processes. Those themes were:

* Access to Information

* Legal and Compliance Considerations

* Trust and Rules of Engagement between stakeholders.

BMS has agreed to release of this Paper as a contribution to the public debate around how best to facilitate patient community engagement in HTA processes. BMS and AccessCR will continue to explore these themes in 2025, and welcome feedback on the questions and ideas posed in this Paper.

Given the considerable length of the Paper, a 3-page summary brief of the concepts proposed has also been released.
